"Oh baby baby... how was I supposed to know..."
Every summer, for the past 5 years I think, my parents take Bryn & her cousin to the lake with them for almost a week. They stay at their condo, do some fishing, spend a lot of time in their boat & a day at Silver Dollar City. Bob & I have a free "date week" at home while she's gone & usually go out every night. It's fun... but I miss her like CRAZY when she's gone.
Last summer, which by the way was the last time she was interested in her American Girl do

The choice to enjoy

"I just need to ace my classes, graduate with honors & become the greatest scarer ever..."
Thought I'd use this random list I found on another blog for lack of anything better to say today...
WATCHING... Monsters University in 3D yesterday with my friend + 4 kids
LISTENING... to new Zumba songs over & over & over again while practicing routines to them

"It's just the beasts under your bed... in your closet... in your head..."
How do you feel about scary movies? I'm not really a fan. Especially those true-to-life movies... like your child's been kidnapped. No thank you. Don't need those bad thoughts in my head. These days I'd much rather see comedies or musicals.
Oh... and I'll probably be seeing Shades of Grey when it comes out.

"Dance all night... sing all day... I've grown these wings so I can fly away..."
Well... we packed our suitcases & then unpacked them the very next day... but not in our cruise ship cabin in Europe. We unpacked them at home since we never left!
As you know, Bob is a State Farm agent. He qualified for this incentive t

"Sexy people all around the world... the night is young... let's have some fun..."
We're a little over a week into the summer. Nothing too out of the ordinary so far... mostly some pool time and friends time. The month of June will be way busier though. Bryn's 12th birthday is coming up, she's doing a 1-week soccer c

Lucky #13
13 years ago today, I married Bob in Sonoma in the company of a very small group of family & friends. It was an amazing trip that began in San Francisco & ended in Sonoma with our wedding. To this day we all still laugh about some of the hilarious things that happened during that trip.

"Believe me... the sun always shines on TV..."
Well my new laptop is up & running, but I'm still trying to navigate around. Do any of you use Typepad for your blog? On my last laptop, I couldn't get Typepad to function if I upgraded beyond Internet Explorer 7. So I stayed with that ancientness until now, thinking something was wrong with that laptop. This new laptop came with Internet Explorer 10 and once again... Typepad didn't work. So I got online remotely with the Geek

"Hey hey hey..."
TGIF... and so far it's been an awesome one. Although any day that begins with a fun Zumba class usually makes for an awesome day. As do surprise early birthday gifts!
For Mother's Day I received a new laptop, which was awesome considering I've had my current laptop for about 5 years & it was just a matter of time before it crashed on me. So for a few days I was without my old one while everything was

Power to the SHE
Start now.
Go.
Find the time.
Find your path.
Find your rhythm.

When in Rome, do as the Romans. When in America, do as the Americans... take a shower & wear deodorant.
I finally did something with our Bermuda pics from last summer. With 2 summer trips approaching, I figured it might be nice to get those out of the way before there's more. Bermuda's just one of several trips that I haven't yet tackled, but oh well.

"DJ... I think I hear my song on the radio.... turn it up louder..."
Happy Monday! How did you spend your weekend? Did you do any scrapbooking on "National Scrapbooking Day?" There was a lot going on in the paper crafting blog world. The SRM Stickers blog posted some of some of their favorite layouts from the past 3 years (you can see al

"So we put our hands up like the ceiling can't hold us..."
Have I mentioned that my daughter is now pretty much over anything related to the craftroom? Which is funny because when she has friends over, that's the first place they want to go, so she usually steers them elsewhere. Basically she doesn't like that I spend time in there. Because me being in there means I'm either creating or practicing Zumba... both of which means she's not getting 100% of my attention.

I yam what I yam
What's more fun to do on a rainy Thursday than Zumba, lunch with friends & working in your craft room for hours with no interruptions?
Ummm... nothing.
Well... actually I can think of a few things more fun & I'm sure it would involve hanging out with friends... but this is pretty good.
Finally did something with this completed poem that's been on my table for about a year now. The p

"The spirit of the runner cannot be broken... because the spirit of the runner is the human spirit..."
I just read a letter in the latest Fleet Feet email. A letter for Boston. I cried.
I'm a runner. I come from a family of runners... both my parents & my sisters. My husband is a runner. Bryn is becoming a runner. I've run 2 half marathons myself and attended countless marathons & other various races of family members, where I've gone from mile-marke

"I'm a do it, do it... like I wanna do it... You gon' know me like, you ain't never known me before..."
For me, sometimes inspiration strikes as soon as I get home from teaching Zumba. Or should I say after I eat lunch, because that's always an immediate must.
If only I could get inspired to take a shower as soon as I get home?
There's something about a high you get from working out that can translate creatively. I've com
